PPO Dental Insurance is probably the most common form of dental managed-care plans. A PPO Dental plan is serviced by dental practices that have agreed to care for the plan’s members at a pre-negotiated, reduced rate. Some plans require members to pay a portion of the costs (a deductible) before care coverage beyond checkups and cleanings begins. Likewise, for more expensive procedures, a plan may only cover some portion (80%, more or less) of the costs. You can also be cared for by an “out of network” provider, but in these instances, you will pay more for your care.
